TLC DIRECTOR TO SPEAK ABOUT FOCUS, ATTENTION WEAKNESSES, ADHD
WEXFORD, Pa. (June 14, 2010) — Dr. Carol Utay, executive director of Total Learning Centers (TLC), will be featured Wednesday, June 16, in “Spotlight on Pittsburgh” with Pittsburgh legend Jack Bogut. She will share in plain English new research on what improves attention without, or as a supplement to, medication. She will also present breaking news from the Academy of Pediatrics on which programs are now considered “evidence-based” for working memory training for individuals with ADHD.
Dr. Utay has been a strong proponent of Working Memory Training for several years via Total Learning Centers’ programs and has been training educators in the community on its appropriate applications.

Dr. Joe Utay, Director of Counseling and Evaluation Services for Total Learning Centers and former professor for Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Counseling, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, a school psychologist, marriage and family therapist, author, national speaker, and father.
Dr. Carol Utay is Executive Director of Total Learning Centers. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and an expert in learning and special education. Dr. Carol has experience as a principal, Orton-Gillingham reading therapist, teacher, consultant, national speaker, professor, author, and mother. She is also a national Athena Award winner for community service.
