After all, each child has unique gifts and because of this, TLC crafts a personalized program just for him or her based on an initial evaluation. And it’s not just any “canned” program; it’s the most leading-edge, research-proven learning strategies in the world for the spectrum of abilities.
These personalized programs, whether one-on-one or in small groups, are taught by some of the brightest, most committed teachers in our region. Because there can be a medical basis for many learning problems, we work with pediatricians and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive solutions.

About Total Learning Centers LLC
Total Learning Centers is a privately owned, academic, brain-based learning facility in the Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties. Dr. Joe Utay, Director of Counseling and Evaluation Services for Total Learning Centers and former professor for Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Counseling, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, a school psychologist, marriage and family therapist, author, national speaker, and father.
Dr. Carol Utay is Executive Director of Total Learning Centers. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and an expert in learning and special education. Dr. Carol has experience as a principal, Orton-Gillingham reading therapist, teacher, consultant, national speaker, professor, author, and mother. She is also a national Athena Award winner for community service.
